The human body wasn’t meant to sit for hours on end. Standing not only allows the body to circulate blood and oxygen while regulating blood pressure, but it increases the ability to focus while combating fatigue.
Aviroop Biswas, a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto is the co-author of a recent study. He is quoted: "Two hours of standing a day serves as a good starting target for people to aim for," says Biswas. "Progressing up from that is a good thing and will most likely lead to reducing prolonged sitting-associated risks."
